"TRANCE" represents a state of serenity and deep meditation, expressing feelings of inner peace, transcendence, and liberation, related to the previous theme of the "MOKSHA" series.
The inspiration for the previous season came from Hinduism, where people believe that the soul is immortal and reincarnates into a new body after the physical body's death. This cycle of reincarnation continues until the soul reaches the state of "MOKSHA," breaking free from the cycle of rebirth. Through the use of techniques such as collecting old fabrics, mud-dyeing, and hand-sewing, we embodied the concept of reincarnation in our clothing, embracing sustainable principles.
This season, I aim to further explore and extend this approach to clothing. The "TRANCE" series, to me, represents a concept of transcending the material world and emphasizing the significance of the inner self. In the designs, some pieces will feature a more minimalist or primitive single-panel cut to highlight the unrefined purity of the materials. Additionally, I plan to incorporate more personalized design elements, such as deconstructing and reassembling cut and sew garments with hand-knitted sweaters.
Furthermore, "TRANCE" is also reminiscent of the 80s electronic music style, which listened to today, evokes a sense of retro-futurism. It places emphasis on melody, repetition, and a hypnotic quality, similar to the contemporary concept of TRAP MUSIC, while encapsulating the profound sense of transcendence and liberation.
